Compounding Energy

Terms of Service

Last updated: 8 April 2026

Plain-English summary. You use our forecasts at your own risk — they are estimates, not trading advice. Don’t abuse the API, don’t resell the data without written permission, and pay your invoices. We can suspend accounts that break these rules. Cancel any time; no refunds for partial months. We’re liable up to what you paid us in the previous 12 months.

1. Who we are

Compounding Energy (“Compounding Energy”, “we”, “us”) is a sole trader / limited company registered in England and Wales. We operate the GridSight platform at gridsight.compoundingenergy.com.

You can reach us at hello@compoundingenergy.com.

[LAWYER-REVIEW: confirm trading name, legal entity, company number, and registered address before publishing.]

2. Your account

To use the paid tiers of GridSight you must create an account and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract. Accounts must not be shared between individuals or organisations unless your plan explicitly permits it.

3. The service

GridSight provides electricity price forecasts, generation mix forecasts, and related data across European power markets. The forecasts are algorithmic estimates based on public and licensed data sources. They are offered for informational purposes only and must not be construed as financial, investment, trading, or regulatory advice.

We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy but do not warrant that forecasts will match actual market outcomes. Published accuracy metrics (such as the mean absolute error shown on our marketing site) describe historical backtest performance and are not predictions of future accuracy.

4. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Use the service in a way that violates any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, disrupt our infrastructure, or probe for vulnerabilities without prior written permission.
  • Exceed the rate limits of your plan, or take deliberate steps to circumvent them.
  • Resell, redistribute, sublicense, or publicly republish bulk forecast data without a written licence from us.
  • Use the service to train a competing forecasting product, or to derive a dataset for sale.
  • Use the service to make automated trading decisions without independent human oversight and your own risk controls.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules, with or without notice depending on severity.

5. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance via Stripe. Prices are shown on our pricing page and are exclusive of VAT where applicable.

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months.

We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice by email. Price changes do not affect the current billing period.

If a payment fails, we may suspend access to paid features until the invoice is settled.

6. Intellectual property

Compounding Energy owns the GridSight platform, its code, models, and documentation. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service in accordance with your plan and these Terms.

You retain ownership of any data you submit to the service. You grant us a licence to process that data to operate and improve the service, subject to our Privacy Policy.

7. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant uninterrupted availability. Expert customers may receive a separate SLA in their order form.

8. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

Subject to the above, our total aggregate liability to you under or in connection with these Terms is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses, including loss of profit, loss of trading opportunity, loss of data, or loss of goodwill.

9. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by cancelling your subscription and emailing us. We may terminate or suspend your account for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, or if required by law.

On termination, your access ends and we may delete your account data after a reasonable retention period as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
